SUP the Wild – Why?

For those of you who aren’t aware, I love to paddle board. And there’s nothing more fun than finding a group of friends and spending the day out on the water.

Most of my friends are a lot more land loving than I, so it would always be solo paddles for me. But at the end of the first lockdown I started my SUP Instagram and began talking to other like minded ladies on social media.

Slowly I met lots of new ladies who loved paddling as much as me, or who hadn’t necessarily tried it and were open to having a go on the water. I’m lucky enough to have two 10’8 bluefin cruise boards, so it’s easy for me to bring a spare board with me if someone didn’t have their own. I started spending every evening after work on the water, paddling until the sun went down with new friends, and it dawned on me that although this area has lots of Facebook group for paddling, there are none specifically for women to meet up. So that’s where the SUP the Wild meet up group comes in.

I’ve created a community of like minded women who are always up for an adventure on the water, happy to chat about boards and give advice when needed. With regular SUP meet ups around the UK south, it’s an easy way to make friends in your area and explore new places that you may not have thought of or had the confidence to explore on your own.

The aim is to be able to organise group SUP trips to explore the south coast and some inland waters ways – Durdle Door, Old Harry’s Rocks, Hayling Island etc, and make new friends along the way.

Keep an eye out for the dates to be announced in the Facebook group or on the @SUPtheWild Instagram

Loves paddleboards, sunsets and dogs. Combine all three, get the wetsuit on and I'm happy.
