Having grown up spending half of every year by the sea, I was always in the water. Whether it was at the beach, windsurfing or sailing, my life revolved around the sea. I think I started sailing at 4 or 5 years old, at kids sailing clubs in Brittany.
Starting out in optimists, I soon graduated to small catamarans, and loved nothing more than hanging off the side of the boat in a trapeze harness while going as fast as possible. At around 8 years old I started windsurfing, something which I majorly struggled with at first was trying to lift the sail out of the water when I’ve always been a weakling, but it soon became my favourite water activity. Being on a boat you have less chance of getting in the water – although I took any excuse to flip the boat, whereas windsurfing I could always bail and jump in.
I stopped spending so much time by the sea when I was 17, and didn’t get my own paddle-board until I was 22. I was trying to figure out what we can do on a sunny day and someone suggested it. We rented some RED boards at the SUP company in Woodmill, Southampton, and I suddenly remembered why I loved being in the water – I was also the only one who had no issues standing up for obvious reasons, so I very much enjoyed showing off.
As soon as I we got home I started researching for my own board, and bought two Bluefin 10’8 cruises. These seemed like the best boards for us and we have no regrets!
I still use these boards to this day and I love them – they’re strong, stable and always reliable. I’ve recently been lucky enough to be asked to become an ambassador for Bluefin and I’m so excited.
If you have any questions about any of their boards feel free to send me a message and I’ll do my best to help!
